Summer Season Begins! – September 11th Remembrance

By Joshua Wortham | June 1, 2011

This summer we invite singers of all skill levels to join us as we mark the 10th anniversary of the fateful events that happened on September 11th. This stirring choral program will be full of reverence, contemplation, hope and celebration. The centerpiece for this concert will be Mack Wilberg’s new Requiem setting. Book-ending this moving work will be the festive “Psalm 46″ by John Ness Beck, Randall Thompson’s “Alleluia”, Rosephanye Powell’s bold setting of the Langston Hughes text “I Dream A World” and more! Rehearsals are Tuesday nights at 7:30 beginning June 7 in the sanctuary of Chester Methodist Church. For more info, contact music@chesterumc.org or call 804.748.6006
